2005
- My trip to urgent care, to fix my hand, June 2nd, 2005
- Angela took Thorwald to visit his great-grandmother (grossmutter) Frieda. Yes, I know that grossmutter means 'grandmother' not great-grandmother, but in Angela's family, that's what they call Frieda.
- Thorwald visits margarets pool -- 2005
- At Margaret's pool, I got some good pictures of a pregnant Angela -- 2005
- With the new one on the way, I decided it was time Thor had his own room. Here you can see where I peeled off many layers of paint and wallpaper, then skimcoated the walls, refinished the floors with Waterlox, painted and put up a border. Oh, and a ceiling fan, too ($20 from Menards!)
- The neighbors come out to play with Thor by our garage -- 2005
- playing at our pool -- 2005
- Beth Platt & Jose Nazario's wedding -- 2005
- We went out and spent a long weekend at my parent's ranch, with my sister and her family -- Summer 2005
- Just days before Gunnar was born, Margaret came over to play -- early August 2005
- Videos I took of Thor playing with Lego bricks -- fall 2005
- Gunnar Olav Anderson joined us on August 21st, 2005
- After a week in the hospital, Gunnar finally joined us at home -- late august 2005
- Once he came home, some people visited us at home, and we went to Angela's parents for dinner. Early Sept, 2005
- Chris & Jessica had a nice new deck built, and we took the kids to the party. Sept 2005.
- Angela took many pictures of only Gunnar in September of 2005
- Thorwald likes to color sitting on the stump. But his markers roll off, so I drilled some holes to hold his markers when he's not actively using them
- Thorwald has been taking swimming lessons at Foss Swim School when we can afford it.
- With winter on the way, it was time to reglaze the north-facing windows. Virginie Sanchez was kind enough to come and watch the boys, so I could work uninterrupted. Also, Thor discovered sidewalk chalk.
- The next day, we went to the park with the Schmelzers, and then to Beek's Pizza. I did my best to corrupt their little girl with dreams of motorcycles...
- Jen and John invited us over for dinner, along with Matt, Jill, Chris & Jess. Thorwald got to have icecream for the first time!
- Though my parents had taken Thor to Minnehaha falls efore, we never had. When we got there, we were delighted to learn that Thor is a highly competent pathfinder, with a near-eidetic recall of where everything is. Except, naturally, for the statue of some guy named Gunnar, which we couldn't find.
- We had Gunnar baptised this last fall. Lots of pictures of beloved friends and family, and his godparents, John Moser & Jen Kalika.
- We took Gunnar on the 2005 Art Studio tour, and while there, he met Matthew Johnson
- Mom & Dad decided that Thor was ready to play with big-kid legos, and brought most of mine out from the farm. For the rest of that day, we sat and played legos.
- Steve turned 60 in 2005, and we helped celebrate his birthday. I was more than happy to bartend.
- My parents came up to stay with us for the weekend of Steve's birthday
- We carved our first pumpkin as a family of four...
- Gunnar's first halloween, and thorwald's first self-propelled trick-or-treating.
- Not long before Thanksgiving, we had Chris & Jess over for some of Angela's famous curry.
- We went over to visit the Wheelers, too
- Gunnar's first Christmas, celebrated at my parent's place.
- Gunnar's first Christmas, as celebrated at our house.
- A concept championed by people without children: a christmas progressive, in which families are repeatedly shuffled into a car and on to the next family's home. This event was sponsored by Exxon.
- A handful of pictures which I don't know where else to put.
- Shortly after Halloween, Laura Topor was kind enough to invite us all to dinner, and Jen made pie. MMMmmmmmm...pie.
