rant: While frames remain an interesting concept, no browser seems to implement them properly, and they have been known to crash particularly poorly designed browsers (see: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator). Table-based formats are pretty much non ADA (or Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant, so they suck for people who are using Browsers-For-The-Blind. CSS is the way to go, thus, that is the way these pages have gone.
Technical Notes: This page was designed using Mozilla Firefox and the command-line browser lynx, running on Linux. Graphics were created using the Gimp, and scaled, rotated and resized using the ImageMagick set of command-line tools (mogrify is my favorite.) All text was written using vim, on the command-line.
All css is hand-written by yours truly. Much of the headers of each page are auto-generated by a series of php functions I've written, in an attempt to minimize effort on my part.
The old version of this page was written using slightly older technology.
Graphics are scanned under Linux, using xsane and an Agfa SnapScan 1212U USB scanner, and manipulated with the gimp. Most pictures were taken using a Canon PowerShot S230, courtesy of Jose at monkey.org (and Beth, too, of course). Thanks guys! It's one hell of a camera.
Todd Murray was kind enough to scan the picture of my wife in her wedding dress about 8 years ago, using some top-of-the-line HP scanner. He did this all as a favor to me, and it has not been forgotten. That Todd guy, he's a good one.
When I'm a good boy, page changes are tracked using CVS.
