Rant:
While frames remain an interesting concept, no browser seems to implement them properly, and they have been known to crash particularly poorly designed browsers (see: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator).

Technical Notes:
This page was designed using Netscape Navigator 4.05, running on Linux, kernel version 2.2.10. All graphics were manipulated with the Gimp, version 1.0.4. All text and HTML was done with vim version 5.1, by Bram Moolenaar. This page is optimized for 800x600.

Updates to this page are done using vim on Linux. For the version of linux, email me. I do not recommend nmapping angelar.com -- I've got a couple of shell scripts which will automatically add your IP address to the bitbucket. Gimp 1.0.4, running on redhat linux 5.2, kernel version 2.2.6, was used for the bopvtr.jpg and bopcl.jpg on the main page.

More updates are also done using my hacked-up linux box, which runs the latest stable kernel, the latest stable version of the gimp and vim. Graphics are scanned under Linux, using xsane and an Agfa SnapScan 1212U USB scanner, and manipulated with the gimp. My old digital camera was a Sipix 1300, which was really quite fabulous, but has since passed into my father's hands. I'm currently using a Canon PowerShot S230, courtesy of Jose at monkey.org (and Beth, too, of course). Thanks guys! It's one hell of a camera.

Todd Murray was kind enough to scan the picture of my wife in her wedding dress about 5 years ago, using some top-of-the-line HP scanner. He did this all as a favor to me, and it has not been forgotten.

Lately, I've been using the Mandrake distribution, which means newer versions of the gimp, and whatnot. I keep track of my pages using CVS, which greatly simplifies maintaining versions.
I use Mozilla and Konqueror to make sure the web pages look okay when I make changes.

All buttons on the main page are 144 x 48 pixels, saved in jpg format, at 50% compression. My page makes almost no use of gifs, due to Unisys's idiotic licensing tantrums. Also, my page makes no use of pngs due to their unsupported nature under older browsers. The font used for the buttons is the Lucida font, bolded, with no slant, at 20 point.
